We may need your specific information in order to process your application/request and reply to your needs promptly. We may ask you for contact information (such as your name, email and address) and demographic information (such as your zip code, post code or age). We will use this information to communicate with you and to provide data which we collect to use in our Member Directory. None of your personal information will be shared with others from this site. You will have control of the information which can be shared by members only in your member profile.

This site links to other sites. The American Women’s Club of Central Scotland is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such Web sites. We will not pass your information along to the linked site; however, we cannot protect the information you provide to that site.
Protecting Personal Information
When you join as a member, you have access to our Members Only page. On that page we post a Membership Directory with names and addresses for club members only. This site is password protected. We do not share any personal data with third-party applications.

ARTICLE VIII – Club Privileges and Responsibilities
Section 8. Utilisation of Membership information (including but not limited to e-mail addresses and directory information):
A. Members must not use membership information for non-club direct advertising or sales.
B. The directory is not to be reproduced or the information in it provided to anyone outside of the membership without the written permission of the Board of Directors.
C. Any use of membership information used for non-club related business could result in termination of membership and forfeiture of dues per the discretion of the Board.
In Addition, we have asked members to not give out personal information from the directory without the express permission of the person involved.
Use of “Cookies”
Our Commitment to Children’s Privacy
Protecting the privacy of the very young is especially important. For that reason, we do not collect personal information from Children and adhere to the 1998 Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We do not use photos of children on our website without express permission from their parents to do so.
AWCCS does not send unsolicited commercial email to individuals. We do provide information on U.S. voting rights as well as topics that concern Americans living Abroad.
How to Correct or Update Information
As a member you can log in to your profile page and select any information you would like to keep private or share with members. We do not allow the member information to be seen by the public.
Period for which Personal Data will be stored
We will hold on to the data provided by you and your membership application while you are an active member of the AWCCS. When you choose not to renew, all of the data we have on you will be destroyed.
To handle email consent, we provided an opt-in mechanism checked when you sign in to your Profile. You have the right to opt out of receiving our emails by clicking the Unsubscribe link at the bottom of each communication. You will still receive confirmation emails in response to specific actions on your part, such as membership renewal notices or event registration confirmations, but you will not receive event announcements and other email blasts.
- You have a right to know what data we hold on you, please contact the websitemanager who will then send you a printed copy of any data we hold on you. This includes membership, event and donation information.
- You have a right to erasure of your personal data under the following conditions:
- The data are no longer needed for the original purpose(s) for which they were collected, and no new lawful purpose exists.
- The lawful basis for processing is consent, the data subject has withdrawn such consent, and no other lawful ground exists.
- The data subject exercises his/her right to object, and the controller has no overriding grounds for continuing the processing.
- The data have been processed unlawfully.
- Erasure is required to comply with EU or member state law.
